Precision Time Protocol
Precision Time Protocol (PTP) - Time as a service
Looking for a reliable time-as-a-service application to help you manage your network infrastructure and applications? With our Precision Time Protocol (PTP) service, you’ll enjoy seamless communication between devices for time stamping and synchronising applications.
We’ll take care of everything so you can focus on running your business, from provisioning and monitoring to managing your private cloud timing service requests. Our global presence also enables you to access our highly accurate, reliable time-as-a-service application from anywhere in the world.
By using our PTP service, you’ll be able to operate and manage your network infrastructure and applications securely, without any disruption. If you work in industries like healthcare, finance, or insurance, you’ll be able to meet compliance regulations with ease. Don’t let inaccurate timekeeping slow you down, let us help you stay on track with our precision time protocol service
With PTP, you can enjoy accurate time stamping of up to 50 microseconds, ensuring that your applications are always precisely synchronized.
PTP is a widely recognized clock synchronization protocol, meaning that your system will align with a standardized timing. This can simplify system integration and reduce compatibility issues.
PTP offers intensified security inside the premises, providing you with peace of mind that your sensitive data is protected.
Unlike antenna-based GPS timing infrastructure solutions, PTP can be easy to install and does not introduce security vulnerabilities.
PTP exceeds the accuracy requirements of FINRA and MiFID II, which have SLA requirements of 100 microseconds for timestamping of applications. It also complies with the time synchronization accuracy requirements of SMPTE 2110 requirements, ensuring that you meet regulatory compliance requirements.
PTP provides the possibility of setting coordinated actions that are synchronised in communication, improving the efficiency and accuracy of your applications.
The Precision Time Protocol (or PTP) is a protocol used to synchronise devices on a given network. PTP allows network devices, applications and equipment to synchronise their clocks with a high degree of accuracy to ensure the efficient running of the intended system. In the past few years, PTP has become an increasingly important tool in developing applications for specific industries and services.Â
PTP works by communicating and sending messages from a device (primary clock) to all other devices on a network (secondary clocks) that inform the secondary devices of what time it is at the master clock, ensuring that the secondary clocks can adjust their time to that of the master. By operating in such a method, PTP is an innately hierarchical protocol, meaning it supports multiple levels of synchronisation, allowing for a complex arrangement of network connections.Â
PTP can be implemented on both the hardware and software level or through a combination of the two and can act as a source of timekeeping for end systems on a given network.Â
In contrast to Network Time Protocol, precision time protocol allows hosts (or devices) to synchronise to one common source of time with much greater precision. Where NTP allows for precision within milliseconds, PTP allows for precision within nanoseconds.Â
