The co-founder of Hyve Managed Hosting has told Insider that international expansion is set to help drive forward growth at the managed hosting provider in 2024.

With entities in the UK, US and Europe, the Brighton-headquartered business launched Hyve Germany in 2021 to support its European customers and has strengthened its position in Germany and the DACH market with the recent opening of a new European hub in Berlin.

The rationale for the European expansion was to support customers in the territory and to counter any obstacles presented by Brexit.

Director Jake Madders, who co-founded Hyve with business partner Jon Lucas, said international expansion requires the firm to be “proactive and lean on our strengths: local expertise and a hands-on customer service”.

“This year we are looking to continue to help educate the market on the need for a more competitive cloud market as an alternative cloud provider to the hyperscalers dominating the market, as conversations around this continue to grow louder and the issue gains more attention,” said Madders.

He added that Hyve is “continuously innovating to ensure that our offerings are tailored to meet the needs of local markets and regional trends”.

“We have everything we need – a great team of cloud experts and the unique Hyve spirit that has proven effective for many years.”

The firm laid a solid platform for growth in 2023 after a strong year.

“Frankly speaking, we achieved more than we originally planned for 2023,” said Madders.

“At the year’s start, our focus was on expanding the UK presence, with a target to boost new business sales by 50 per cent. “This growth allowed us to take further steps towards our European and US expansion.

“We have successfully established this foundation, and by growing our UK headcount by over 30 per cent, we used this momentum to branch out to our focus regions.”
