Linguamatics is a world-renowned natural language processing (NLP) text mining company whose software powers discovery in science and healthcare. Their software is used to scan items such as journal articles and electronic health records, particularly within the science and healthcare sectors. Founded in 2001, Linguamatics continues to support leading medical organisations around the globe, by helping to design and improve therapies for disease and patient care.
The challenge
Linguamatics’ software runs as both an on-premise and a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution. Due to the demanding compute and storage requirements of its technology, the SaaS element needed to be hosted off-site, in a way that still gave the team control and flexibility.
Instead of moving to a fully cloud-based model, they chose to use custom hardware and colocate, requiring a top-tier data centre close to their Cambridge HQ, with great connectivity, consistent uptime, and a responsive, reliable partner.
