Hyve is proud to announce that we are now members of CISPE – one of the most influential associations representing the interests of cloud infrastructure service providers in Europe.
About CISPE
CISPE represents cloud service providers ranging from global hyperscalers to focused SMEs providing specialist cloud infrastructure services.
Unlike many other associations, CISPE is more than a mouthpiece for the industry. Although they promote issues of importance to their members, and lobby legislators, regulators and other influencers at EU and National Government levels, they do more by creating and making available practical tools and technical specifications to help members like Hyve.
Fair Competition
CISPE has a current heavy focus on competition as many members, and their customers, are significantly harmed by the unfair software licensing policies of dominant legacy software providers.
They have lodged their own sector-complaint with the European Commission against the licensing practices of Microsoft. Many members depend on reselling Microsoft licenses as part of their service to customers, but increasingly preferential prices are driving customers to direct relationships with Microsoft and its Azure cloud infrastructure.
They also have five active working groups which any member can get involved in, including the Climate Neutral Datacentre Pact, Fair Competition, Data Protection, Gaia-X and Women in ICT sector, with more groups to be created this year.
Hyve are looking forward to working closely with CISPE on such initiatives and driving forward the cloud of the future.
