Hyve is looking for a seasoned Sales Manager to head up sales and biz dev for an established British managed hosting company opening their first US office in Venice CA. If you’re ambitious, entrepreneurial minded, hungry for success and looking for an exciting role in a lively and passionate environment, then read on.

Ideal Criteria:

  • You’ll have an astounding track record of prospecting and selling managed hosting solutions to both SMB and Enterprise target clients.
  • You’ll be extremely well connected and have a black book of contacts to enable you to hit the ground running.
  • You’ll have an intimate knowledge of everything to do with managed hosting and a firm understanding of issues around AWS, Azure, Rackspace etc.
  • Have a proven track record of successful prospecting, building strong pipelines and winning business.
  • Confident self-starter. Able to learn quickly, use their own initiative and motivated to get the job done effectively.
  • Use a consultative, positive, solution-focussed mentality at all times with a proactive and can-do attitude
  • Team player
  • Good technical knowledge and understanding of the hosting landscape (cloud, dedicated, colocation etc)
  • Solid grasp of math and performance analysis.
  • Amazing customer service skills and ability to resolve questions efficiently, effectively and politely.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Social and outgoing and easily able to build relationships.
  • Proficient with all facets of MS Office, in particular Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Impeccably spoken and written English
  • Strong organizational skills


  • Available to travel frequently to Hyve head office in the UK
  • Build up a pipeline of business leads using prospecting as well as handling incoming leads
  • Create and implement a successful strategic sales plan
  • Build up a team of sales professionals including training and supporting them through the sales process
  • Frequent customer site visits
  • Deliver superb levels of sales ability/technique
  • Identify new opportunities to leverage business and relationships.
  • Attend weekly sales meetings/presentations with agencies and clients to discuss strategy.
  • Advise clients and create brand loyalty
  • Negotiate Sales contracts
  • Manage and maintain a sales pipeline for International business
  • Achieve sales targets

Your Background:

  • Minimum 5 years sales experience in business development, preferably for a hosting company
  • A track record of outstanding Business Development with a focus on new business
  • Strong track record of driving revenue through strategic selling and negotiation techniques, face to face presentations, and high quality proposals.
  • Experience with forging strong relationships with clients and creating compelling Tender Responses (RFQ, RFP, RFI) to meet the demands of sales opportunities and challenges
  • Strong understanding of the hosting landscape
  • College educated
  • You must be eligible to work in the USA for this position
