Protecting your critical data and applications.
Protecting critical data and applications is becoming an increasing priority for businesses. The volume of data now stored on company servers presents a lucrative target for cybercrime, with hackers utilising a range of methods to exploit poor coding practices, such as cross-site scripting and SQL injection to create malicious attacks.
Web application firewalls (WAFs) provide an extra layer of protection that helps to block these kinds of attacks.

A WAF sits directly in front of the application layer of a web server and examines every HTTP/HTTPS request that comes through as they pass to and from the firewall and web servers. Applying a set of specifically configured rules, it filters out illegitimate traffic. New rules can be applied to the WAF in keeping with new and emerging threats.
WAFs differ from standard firewalls because they are specifically configured to cover web applications and websites, specifically code, whereas standard firewalls work based on access lists, input and output, and access controls.
Effective web application protection requires extensive knowledge and a unique set of skills. At Hyve, security is at the forefront of everything we do. We offer an enterprise-grade, cloud-based WAF, built and fine-tuned by our own team of experts.
Our Highly Available WAFs provide an extra layer of protection, helping to block attacks from HTTP/HTTPS traffic such as cross-site scripting and SQL injection – specifically OWASPs key threats.
Our commitment to providing value for money empowers us to work with industry-leading open-source projects such as ModSecurity, which was designed to remove obstacles such as cost barriers to make WAF technology accessible to the wider market.
In addition to ModSecurity, we also partner with Alert Logic, an enterprise-grade WAF provider who was named a visionary on Gartner’s Magic Quadrant 2019.
Between our WAF products, we have a solution that will meet our customer’s needs. If any malicious activity is reported, our security team will eliminate the complexity for you and immediately take the appropriate and pre-agreed actions, which could include multiple blocking tactics such as blacklisting, whitelisting, signature or HTTP/HTTPS anomaly-based models.
