He’s not happy. He’s had enough of security bods that don’t consider developers and end-users in their security ‘fixes’ on the kernel.
Whilst multiple layers of security are still top of the agenda, he doesn’t want updates to annoy users or disrupt core code. It seems that a lot of security professionals have focussed on killing processes, rather than just debugging.
Torvalds said that the focus should always be on the users and that with debugging, the next version of the kernel has to be better than the one that’s currently in use.
