From today, users of Chrome version 68 will have a “Not Secure” warning displayed in the address bar in an attempt to force users to start using HTTPS. We covered this back in February.
HTTPS encrypts all data in transit from the user to the web server. This will mean that some attacks (such as Man In The Middle) will not be successful.
Of the top 1 million sites in the world, over 50% are still relying on HTTP for their connections. With over 60% market share, Google is essentially trying to move people onto HTTPS.
If you would like to talk with us about how we can help you secure and encrypt your site, please call us today or email email@example.com.
