SSL - Dedicated
Stands for Secure Sockets Layer. SSL is a protocol commonly used for managing security and encrypting message transmission across the Internet. It uses a program layer located between HTTP and TCP layers.
Many web sites use this protocol to obtain confidential user information, such as credit card numbers. By convention, URLs that require an SSL connection start with https instead of http.
With dedicated SSL you must purchase your own SSL certificate and have a dedicated IP address to run the SSL on. With dedicated SSL you get a secure URL lke https://secure.yourname.com/ and our name is not included in the url. Dedicated SSL is more costly because Dedicated SSL requires that you purchase an SSL certificate and have a dedicated IP address.
